Cells (≈ 5 × 107cfu/ml) were exposed to two to eight times (500 to 2000 μg/ml) the MIC of hydroxychavicol (HC) for 60 min. Amphotericin B at eight times the MIC (4.0 μg/ml) was used as the positive control and, the cells without hydroxychavicol served as the growth control.
